Semi-Permanent Makeup
With an educational background in art and a successful art based business in the past, creating designs is something we love to do at Danick Beauty Bar. We understand that for many people, body art or tattoos are a personal way to express something near and dear to their hearts. We take the time to consult with our clients. Not only on the design, but also to ensure that this is something to which the client is committed and not something that is being done on a whim. The length of the procedure will depend on the type of art requested, and may require multiple sessions to complete. You are free to bring in your own design, choose from our catalog, or have our consultants design the image you want. Since this procedure involves inserting colour pigments deep into the skin for a permanent result, our tattoo artist will confirm the design over multiple meetings to ensure that the client is truly committed to this permanent procedure and the final art.
There are some things you can do prior to your appointment to maximize the results of your procedure, such as making a concerted effort to stay well hydrated at least two weeks prior. It is also considered a good idea to avoid aspirin, alcohol or caffein at least 48 hours prior to your appointment because these thin out the blood and can make the tattoo session more unpleasant. Wearing comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed will make a long and painful tattooing session a little more comfortable.
Keep in mind that during the healing process, your tattoo will scab over and then slowly flake off. It will likely also feel itchy while the skin dries out and heals. It is critical to refrain from scratching or picking at scabs. You can remove the bandage a few hours after your procedure, but best to leave it on until the next morning. Until it has healed, make sure that your clothes do not rub against the tattoo to avoid increased irritation. Remember to avoid soaking in water or going swimming until your tattoo has fully healed, and keep it out of direct sunlight. During the healing process, it is recommended that you wash your tattoo with mild antibacterial soap, treating it very gently, and patting it dry instead of rubbing. Apply an ointment recommended by your tattoo artist to keep it hydrated. Once it has healed, you can apply sunscreen directly to your tattoo for the life of your body art. Maintaining this aftercare for several months post-procedure will maintain the vibrancy of your tattoo longer. Since every client heals differently, it is important to keep an eye on your tattoo to ensure that it does not get infected. You should see your doctor immediately if you suspect an infection. Otherwise, following the aftercare routine provided by your tattoo artist will ensure a long-lasting and positive outcome.
